The standard HDD for iMac Late 2009 and Mid 2010 has a terminal for temp sensor, and the HDD fan is controled by its temp.
This is not standard for other general HDDs. So if you want to replace the standard HDD to SSD, the HDD fan will run at high speed, and it's noisy. And Apple Hareware Test reports error.
But SSDs will not heat up than HDDs, so the HDD fan just need to run at low speed. When you put jumper on the sensor terminal, the fan will run at 1500rpm constatly.
Compatibility: iMac 21.5/27 inch Late 2009 and Mid 2010, all models.
