This item adds one (1) FireWire 800 ports and one (1) FireWire 400 port to the MacBook Pro via the ExpressCard/34 slot.  Since there are no FW800 ports for the MacBook Pro 15" first generation models, we especially recommend this item for our users with those notebook computers.  Includes AC jack (for bus-powered devices) on the side of the card.
